Scholarships For High School Students

Scholarship season is upon us and deadlines are fast approaching. If you are a senior; and have not already started on scholarships, you need to start getting to work. Applying for scholarships might seem like a lot of work now, but the pay-off can be quite rewarding.
The more you apply for, the better your chances are for winning a scholarship, so get going!
You can search through scholarship databases such as fastweb.com.
Lebanon Schools Foundation scholarships are important to keep in mind and should be applied for by all seniors. There has been little competition for these scholarships so far. These scholarships are not just for the top notch student going to a four year university, but for everyone; whether you are going to a trade school, community college, in-state university or out-of-state university. Everyone!
There is not even a minimum GPA requirement to apply. The following are Lebanon Schools Foundation Scholarships:
  • Dr. Melanie - For those interested in pursuing a medical career.

  • Bob Grimes - For those interested in pursuing a career in the engineering profession.

  • Bob and Helen Grimes - For those interested in pursuing a medical career.

  • McDaniel/Optimist

  • Mid-Valley Reeves Young Dahl - 3 scholarships in one application.

  • Virginia Link - For those interested in pursuing a career in education.

Deadline for all of these scholarships is January 31. More valuable scholarships to be aware of are the Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC) scholarships, are available only to seniors. There are more than 370 to choose from, and you can apply for up to 20 on one application. The items you will need for this application are; an activities chart, two essays and an official grade transcript.
You will be able to apply online or get a paper copy from the eConnections room, both of which are available now.
You should read the directions many times to make sure that you have gone through each step. If you fill it out online make sure you print out a copy to sign and mail in.
