Applying For Minority Scholarships

Are you thinking about applying for minority scholarships? If you quality for a minority scholarship you can get some or even all of the money that you need to get a degree. Some scholarships even give you money to pay for your living expenses while you're in school. Keep in mind though that there is a lot of competition for scholarships that offer full tuition money and money for living expenses. Here are some tips that you can use when you're applying for minority scholarships that will increase your chances of getting the scholarship:
Make sure you have included all of the materials that need to be in the application packet. Most scholarship packets come with a checklist of everything that needs to be included when you send the package back to the scholarship committee. Make a few copies of this checklist so that you don't lose it. Before you send in the packet of application materials go over the checklist twice and make sure that you have included in the packet everything that is on the checklist. Most scholarship committees will immediately toss any incomplete scholarship packets.
Send your application by UPS or FedEx so you can track it. Even though it can get expensive to send each application through UPS or FedEx when you're applying for minority scholarships it's well worth the extra cost. If you have to prove that the application did arrive where it was supposed to arrive or you need to prove what date you sent the application on you will have proof of those things if you send it through UPS or FedEx but not if you send it through the regular mail. Also, if your application becomes lost you can see who signed for it if you sent it through UPS or FedEx but if it's sent in the regular mail once it leaves your hands you'll have no idea where it goes.
