Do Not Pay For A "Free Scholarship"!
A lot of families have given much thought on how to pay for their kids' college education. Some families were not able to pay college expenses without getting a financial aid. The opinions of some experts on "how to be young, healthy and rich" and pay college tuitions themselves don't really help. Scholarships are one of the major forms of financial aid that help the students pay for their education. Scholarships are given by governments, colleges and private sources, based on financial needs, merit, or both. But in any case, this is a form of gift and does not have to be repaid or paid for.
But there are a lot of companies whose motto is: "The scholarship will cost some money." They offer Scholarships and charge a small fee, called "application fee", "entry fee" and so on ...
Don't enter into such programs and don't pay!
Do you know why? Because most probably this is a scam: They are not giving any Scholarships to anybody because they
a) Only intend to get your money, and not grant the scholarship;
b) They sign up the candidates for such an "agreement" that nobody can fulfill;
c) Accidentally (but always) the winner is their relative or friend.
There are companies that claim that for a small fee: "They'll do all the work." This means that they, instead of you, will do everything that has to be done to apply for a scholarship. They will fill out the forms, write assays, mail applications, get personal statements and so on and so forth. All this work takes many hours or even days. And they will do all this and almost for nothing? Come on! Don't pay! It is a scam.
